The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP)
The DPP is appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Judicial Services Commission, following consultation by the Judicial Services Commission with the Attorney-General.
In addition, section 117 of the Constitution states that the DPP is appointed for a term of 7 years and is eligible for reappointment. He or she must also be a person who is qualified to be appointed as a Judge.
Currently, Ms Nancy Tikoisuva holds the position in the Acting capacity.
Ms Nancy Tikoisuva is a lawyer by profession with over 19 years of experience. She graduated from the University of the South Pacific in 2003 and in 2022 she attained her Masters of Law from USP. Ms Tikoisuva comes with vast knowledge and experience in both criminal and civil litigation. She has worked with Toganivalu Legal law firm as well as an External consultant and assistant lecturer at the University of the South Pacific. Ms Tikoisuva has also worked as a national consultant with UNICEF and Food Agricultural Organization.
